The reception .....

Another important part of the day sometimes neglected by photographers. The speeches can often be quite moving or sometimes hilarious and I love to capture these moments for the bride and groom to look back on.  Sometimes I will even shoot a little bit of video and incorporate that into a slideshow.

Before the reception starts I always get some detail shots of the cake and table settings. Of course I also capture the actual cake cutting.

This is your time .....

After the ceremony and celebration drinks etc... I will usually get the formal group shots arranged, if required. Then we will have a period where we can get some attractive photographs around your chosen venue with just the two of you. This only takes around thirty minutes and will make a lovely spread in your album. The pre-wedding shoot comes into it’s own here as we will have had a practice for this part of the day and although I will be gently “directing” you through this period our aim is to achieve natural looking photographs without too much heavy posing!

The ceremony .....

The way I see it, the ceremony is a very important part of the day. An anxious groom waiting for his bride to arrive, catching his first glimpse as she approaches.

The ceremony itself and the exchange of rings, and of course the first kiss. These are important moments that I will do my upmost to capture as discretely as possible.

Sometimes other things will happen and your photographer needs to be alert to everything that is going on around him or her. Children are naturally curious as to what is going on and they often get very restless in church if a vicar is droning on...  or sometimes they are just very amusing!

Some Facts .....

For a typical summer’s wedding I average between 400 - 800 images taken throughout the course of the day.

The images are then edited for any duplicates or photographs where a subject has blinked or moved etc..

Every remaining images is adjusted for tone and colour.

“Stand Out” images will be edited further to get the very best possible quality from them.

Some of the images may be converted to monochrome. I do not charge any extra for this, it is all included.

Every couple will have an engagement shoot with me, if chosen to, where I will “direct” you to a small degree and this helps on the day during the period where I will be photographing just the two of you.

For every wedding that I photograph I will spend the whole day seeking out images. Some of these will be the details of the wedding, such as the dress and shoes in the morning, or later in the day the table decorations and cake etc..

However, throughout the day I am also concentrating on people! Some of the time these will be formal shots but for most of the day there will be photographs taken where the subjects will be unaware of the camera.

I start at the beginning .....

I start photographing your day whenever you want me to start. You will want me to capture all or part of the day, but I find the morning preparations make a great opening to any album.

Usually this will mean visiting the Bride first to get some detail shots of the dress and shoes etc.. This could be at her home, the home of her parents or the wedding venue itself.

We also make sure that I get some photographs of the Groom getting ready for the day wherever he happens to be, at other times I may meet up with the guys at the church or at the venue where we can get some shots before his bride arrives.

A lot happens during a wedding. It is always a day packed full of emotions. You need someone there who will capture it all, the things you didn’t see, the moments you missed. Someone you can trust, who will not intrude on the day, someone who will make you remember how you felt.

In the next few paragraphs, you will see images that typify how I might approach your wedding day, showing you the sort of wedding memories that I will give to you, if you put your trust in me .....
